part i.
Character name: Lucius Malfoy
Fandom: Harry Potter
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): human wizard
Character powers: Potterverse-flavored wizard, meaning he has all the standard wand magic of the setting at his disposal. He is quite a talented duelist, handy with an Imperius curse, and though a little out of practice, above average with potions.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hynotism, or suggestion? He has had some training in resisting mind-reading/mind-control, but he's not superhuman or totally immune. Please talk to me ooc and we can figure it out.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. If you get into his mind in the first place (see above), I am fine with any and everything being accessed. His mind is reasonably steady for someone who fought in an underground war for a decade, starting as a teenager; which is to say, his thoughts tend to the orderly, but there's some dark stuff there to dig around in.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? He'd be resistant to casual mindreading, but I am up for discussion of someone trying harder/just that good. Let's talk.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? Emotions should be fine to pick up; his are very, very controlled for the most part, but not shielded.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? Nothing strong plus or minus here.
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? Lucius is tall and broad-shouldered, with a frosty, imposing air. It's almost always covered or hidden under a concealment charm, but the faintest outline of the Dark Mark is visible on his inner left forearm.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? Not immune, though he does know healing magic and potions that can cure many diseases past the scope of muggle medicine.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, etcetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. Nope, human straight through.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? I am definitely willing for him to suffer physical harm should the circumstance arise, though I won't be actively seeking it out. We should talk, however, about how far it goes, especially if whatever damage could be permanent. Vampire feeding is possible, but because of the wizard thing, I'd be dubious about turning him against his will.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? Go for it.
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? It wouldn't be noticed to those without special aura-reading abilities, but for those, it's certainly viewable. Assume that you can pick up that he's a wizard, and you can probably get a mood reading; anything more specific, PM me and we'll work it out.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yes, but unless he's incapacitated, he'll probably have a chance to countercurse/try to block effects he becomes aware of. Cross-universe magic is fun! Contact me ooc and we'll sort it if necessary.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Almost certainly, though he may be able to notice. On the other hand, he wouldn't resist it very hard. He's most prone to pride/vanity, though other vices might also lure him.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? Again, hubris. Pride. He could be tempted to hurt non-wizards for fun, under the right circumstances, but violence for its own sake isn't as much his style.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Yes.
part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional. I wouldn't prefer it.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? Any public network post or open log is totally jackable as long as it makes logical sense. Please ask if anything is locked or otherwise private.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? Yes, absolutely. He knows a fair bit anyway.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? No big triggers jump to mind. If in doubt, please feel totally free to contact me ooc beforehand.
5. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? Not at this time.
